Nyungwe Forest National Park
There are few protected woods that can match Rwanda's magical Nyungwe Forest National Park in terms of accolades. For openers, this massive enclave of montane forest, covering more than 940 square kilometers, is the last surviving enclave in this part of the continent.
Furthermore, one of the world's most diversified arrays of simian life is hidden behind the heavy canopy of mahoganies and clambering jungle vines. Chimpanzees, uncommon golden monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, and large baboons may all be found swinging among the trees!
The tremendous biodiversity of Nyungwe Forest National Park is well-known. Chimpanzees are the stars of the show, and guided tracking excursions allow guests to get up up and personal with them in their natural habitat. There are also 12 more primate species in the park.
