Palm Springs
"Palm Springs" is a romantic-comedy science fiction film that follows the story of Nyles (played by Andy Samberg) and Sarah (played by Cristin Milioti). Nyles is stuck in a time loop, reliving the same day over and over again, which happens to be the day of a wedding at a resort in Palm Springs. He has been in the time loop for so long that he has become disillusioned with life and has adopted a carefree and hedonistic attitude.
One day, Sarah attends the wedding as a reluctant guest, and she accidentally gets caught in the time loop too. At first, she is confused and frustrated by both the bizarre situation and Nyles himself; but as she spends more time with him, the two of them form a connection and start to enjoy each other's company.
As one of the best enemies-to-lovers movies, "Palm Springs" stands as a thoughtful and introspective film, using the framework of a romantic-comedy and time loop premise to delve into profound themes of existentialism, the pursuit of meaning, and the value of living in the present moment. Its witty humor and well-crafted characters make it a standout entry in the genre of both romantic comedies and philosophical explorations.
