Paradiso
After stepping through the fridge door at the back of a pastrami shop in Barcelona's trendy El Born district, the beautiful curving wooden panelling of Paradiso's front bar is the last thing you expect to see. Owner Giacomo Giannotti and his crew worked hard in Paradiso's off-site laboratory to design the Universo menu, which physically lights up in the dark, to complement the spectacular décor.
The sophisticated beverages on the luminous menu, such as the Space Colada and the Volcano Negroni, which is presented with a little dry ice volcano exploding over the glass, continue the element of surprise. In what is one of the best cocktail bars in Barcelona, sample an "experience" with a twist via the Great Gatsby; a smoked, vanilla, and chocolate infusion of Macallan Amber, Ramazzotti Amaro, truffle honey, lavender bitters, and served with...well, certain things should remain secret.
