If your travels take you to this part of Serbia and you enjoy baking, this is a must-visit. Many people claim that the pork roasting in Mali Hrast is the greatest in Serbia. Peenjara is a tiny ethno-style restaurant with around 40 seats inside and another 30 on the terrace. It lies a few kilometers from Arandjelovac on the major road.
Roast pork is the house specialty, but lamb can also be ordered. There is also excellent grilled meat, but it is rarely ordered. The baking is constantly hot and arrives clean and chopped (as seen in the photos). You can also find it on weekdays, although it is best to phone ahead and schedule an appointment. If you do not phone ahead on weekends, you will almost probably not be able to obtain a vacancy.
