Portland Buddhist Priory
Portland Buddhist Priory is a sanctuary for Zen practice and spiritual exploration. Founded in 1987 by the dedicated Zen teacher Rev. Leon Kackman, the priory has blossomed into a thriving center.
One of the priory's greatest strengths lies in its dedicated leadership. Under the guidance of experienced teachers, the priory cultivates a welcoming and supportive environment where practitioners can deepen their understanding of Zen Buddhism and cultivate mindfulness in their daily lives.
Beyond its dedicated leadership, the priory fosters a strong sense of community. Members share a common passion for Zen practice and find solace and belonging within the supportive network of fellow practitioners. This sense of shared values and mutual support creates a unique space for spiritual growth and personal transformation.
The priory's location in Northeast Portland provides a tranquil and serene environment conducive to meditation and reflection. The peaceful setting, surrounded by nature, offers a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life, allowing for introspection and inner exploration.
With its strong foundation, dedicated leadership, diverse programs, and commitment to interfaith engagement, the priory is well-positioned to continue serving the Portland community and beyond for years to come. Come experience the serenity of this vibrant center and embark on your own transformative journey of inner peace and spiritual growth.
