Prospero's and Cathedral Caves

It is believed that Prospero's Cave was first discovered by Sir George Somers, who came ashore on his ship Sea Venture in the year 1609. This is supposedly the first cave discovered in Bermuda. Prospero's Cave is home to Natura Spa, and Cathedral Cave is available to Grotto Bay Beach Resort guests only. In some locations, both caverns reach depths of up to 30 feet. Swimming is permitted in the Cathedral cave, however it is prohibited in the natural spa cave.

Sir George Somers, who landed ashore in 1609 on his ship Sea Venture, is thought to be the first to find Prospero's Cave. This is said to be Bermuda's first cave discovery. If you have the opportunity to travel here, please visit Prospero's and Cathedral Caves to enjoy the beauty of nature.
