PTT Gas purchases, processes, transports and distributes natural gas. PTT owns a 49% stake in Thai Oil, Thailand's largest oil refiner. Other PTT divisions are engaged in oil and gas exploration and production and petrochemical production. Thailand, which established PTT to secure energy supplies during the oil crisis of the late 1970s, sold a third of the company in its 2001 IPO. The Thai government owns 51% of PTT.
