Punta de Palma
One of the most beautiful beaches in Punta de Palma, which is located in Puerto Barrios on Guatemala's southern Caribbean coast.
The beach, which is covered in white sand, is set in a picturesque palm grove that comes dangerously close to the sea. The slope into the water is sloping, and the depth at a distance of 1.80 meters from the coast is not exceeding 1.80 meters. The sea is calm, with almost no waves. If someone dares to take small children on a trip around the country with a relatively high crime rate, it is very comfortable to rest with them.
Punta de Palma is not overcrowded. There is a scarcity of beach infrastructure. Showers and toilets are available for a fee. A snack can be obtained from the beachside bar. Vacationers include visitors from Western Europe, the United States, and Canada.
A protected area near Punta de Palma has small Las Escobas waterfalls and a picturesque lagoon. The excursion to the reserve will cost approximately $14.
The Guatemalan coast has a hot tropical climate with heavy rainfall and hurricanes in the summer and calm, sunny winters. From November to April is the best time to relax on the Caribbean and Pacific coasts. The air temperature does not drop below +18°C and does not rise above +28°C, and the water temperature in the Caribbean ranges between +26 and +28°C. The rainy season begins in May.
