QT Wellington
The QT Wellington Hotel (previously the Museum Art Hotel, and originally called the Michael Fowler Hotel). It is one of the tallest structures in the city.
Geoff Richards designed the structure, which was finished in 1987. It featured 38 guest rooms and two penthouse suites when it was known as the Michael Fowler Hotel. Sir Michael Fowler lived on the top level of a residential unit. The hotel added 94 hotel rooms and 127 apartments to a neighboring property in 2004, and by 2020, it had 180 rooms, including 25 art-inspired Gallery Rooms and 99 self-contained apartments.
This one-of-a-kind hotel is 6 kilometers from Wellington International Airport, directly across from Te Papa Tongarewa New Zealand Museum. There are 42-inch flat-screen TVs in every room, as well as free Wi-Fi and Nespresso coffee makers. The interior design styles span from traditional to contemporary. Some rooms include a balcony or terrace, while suites include a kitchen. The stylish restaurant with a bar is decorated with chandeliers and dramatic art and serves classic French cuisine. There's also an indoor lap pool, a gym, a sauna, and seven conference rooms.
