Queen Victoria Market (also known as Vic Market or Queen Vic) is a major landmark in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia's central business area. It is the largest open-air market in the Southern Hemisphere, spanning seven hectares (17 acres).
Queen Vic Market has been a Melbourne tradition for nearly 140 years and is the Southern Hemisphere's largest open-air market. You may spend all day browsing among the 600 stalls, which sell everything from fresh fruit to souvenirs and locally made clothing. When you need a break, you'll enjoy the numerous excellent restaurants in and near the markets. Open till 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 4 p.m. on weekends; in the summer, you can even catch the night markets. It's on the Victorian Heritage Register and the National Heritage List, and it's one of Melbourne's most popular tourist attractions, with almost 10 million visitors each year.
