Rappler
Philippine internet news outlet Rappler is situated in Pasig, Metro Manila. It was started by Maria Ressa, the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize winner, together with some other technopreneurs and journalists from the Philippines. In August 2011, MovePH was created as a Facebook page, then on January 1, 2012, it became a website.
A web gadget called "Mood Meter" is present in all of Rappler's blogs and articles. It takes the form of colored bubbles that display how readers respond to Rappler's stories. Readers are asked to select one of eight possible emotional responses. The ten stories with the most comments over the previous 48 hours would be displayed on the Mood Navigator. Awarded the Bronze Medal for Brand Experience at the 2012 Boomerang Awards presented by the Internet Media Marketing Association of the Philippines was the Rappler Mood Meter, which is comparable to Facebook Reactions.
Rappler+ is an exclusive membership program of Rappler. In addition to weekly newsletters, members have access to investigative reports, research data, industry reports, and e-books produced by investigative journalism and digital media company. Rappler has a section dedicated to investigative journalism, called "Rappler Investigative". This section features in-depth reports on issues such as corruption, human rights abuses, and environmental concerns. Rappler has won numerous awards for its investigative journalism, including the Society of Publishers in Asia Awards for Excellence in Investigative Reporting.
