Return of the 8th Class Magus

Yeongbin Kim and Jinsu Park are the creators of the Korean manhwa (comic book) series "Return of the 8th Class Magician". The first installment of the series was released in South Korea in 2019, and it has since acquired popularity there as well as elsewhere.

Kim Jee-Ha, a high school student who was formerly a famed rank-8 magician in a virtual reality game, is the main character of the story. After abandoning the game, Jee-Ha resumes his regular life, but soon finds himself suddenly transported to a parallel dimension where magic actually exists, forcing him back into the world of magic. Jee-Ha learns in this new world that he has the capacity to become a powerful magician in the real world and that his magical abilities are not just restricted to the virtual one.

The series is renowned for its deep characters, meticulously rendered magical fights, and elaborate world-building. It examines issues including authority, accountability, and maturation. The manhwa has received accolades for its captivating plot, original premise, and gorgeous artwork.
