SAIC
Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC) is a Chinese global automobile manufacturing business that specializes in the manufacture of electric cars (EVs). SAIC has been manufacturing vehicles since 1955 and has expanded its operations to include various automobile brands worldwide in its portfolio, such as MG and Roewe.
SAIC has become a force to be reckoned with in the electric vehicle industry. The company introduced its first electric car, the Roewe E50, in 2015 as part of a joint venture with American EV manufacturer Tesla. The Roewe E50 had a range of 120 kilometers and required approximately 7 hours to completely charge. SAIC's EVs have progressed significantly since the E50 and are now offered in a variety of categories.
The MG ZS EV, which was launched in 2019, is one of SAIC's most noteworthy EVs. With a range of up to 163 miles, it has since become one of the most famous electric SUVs in the UK. SAIC is constantly refining its electric car technology and is currently experimenting with solid-state batteries. Solid-state batteries are said to have a greater energy density and to be more reliable and safe than traditional lithium-ion batteries. SAIC is presenting itself as a creative and forward-thinking EV maker dedicated to creating sustainable and eco-friendly transportation options with the introduction of solid-state batteries.
