Santander Polska
A Polish universal bank with offices in Wroclaw, Pozna, and Warsaw is called Santander Bank Polska SA. According to the amount of its assets and the number of its outlets, it is the third-largest bank in Poland. It was created in 2001 by the union of Wielkopolski Bank Kredytowy SA and Bank Zachodni S.A. The Spanish bank Santander Group has controlled the bank since 2011.
Bank Zachodni WBK and Kredyt Bank, which Santander acquired from its Belgian owners, KBC Bank, merged on January 4, 2013. Bank Zachodni WBK was elevated to the third-largest bank in Poland by market share as a result of the consolidation of its Polish banking operations. Through a network of almost 1000 locations, Bank Zachodni WBK serves 3.5 million people.
Santander Bank Poland SA replaced Bank Zachodni WBK as the institution's name on September 10, 2018. Moreover, the bank's main office was relocated from Wroclaw to Warsaw. The retail division of Deutsche Bank Poland SA was merged with Santander Bank Polska SA in the fourth quarter of 2018.
