Preventive and periodic eye examinations are essential for maintaining excellent eye health at all ages. SeeRite offers complete eye care for the entire family. They will visit individuals as early as a few months old, and then every year or bi-annually after that, depending on your medical and/or ocular history.

Children and/or adults who have pre-existing vision difficulties or any of the risk factors listed below should get their eyes tested more often.

The first element of an eye exam is the visual acuity test, which involves testing how well each eye sees by reading letters, figures, or images from an eye chart. Although vision is accomplished by the eyes, the pictures are assembled and processed by the brain, making them subjective. As a result, you will be asked a series of questions in order to fine-tune your glasses or contact lens prescription. In the event of a youngster or a nonverbal patient, this subjective portion of the refraction is skipped, and the glasses prescription is based on objective results and a process done by the doctor known as retinoscopy.
