SelfControl
SelfControl is a free and open-source Mac OS X tool that allows users to prevent their own access to distracting websites, mail servers, and other internet resources. Users can ban sites for a specific amount of time and add them to their blacklist. They will be unable to visit certain sites until the timer ends, even if they restart their computers or remove the program. In addition to English, SelfControl is available in ten more languages.
SelfControl appears to be simple: there's a blocklist, a dial for adjusting the length of your block time, and a start button. That is all there is to it. But there's one thing that sets it apart: it's difficult to reverse.
This software is quite difficult to use. Even if you close the app, all of your distractions remain blocked. Neither deleting the software nor restarting your computer will solve the problem. Once you've set the timer, the only way to turn off blocking is to completely reinstall macOS (which would delete all of your apps, settings, and documents).
