Shanghai Community International School
Shanghai Community International School (SCIS) is a non-profit educational day school managed by a self-perpetuating board of directors and monitored by the International Schools Foundation. It was founded in 1996 as one of Shanghai's first international schools. SCIS has three campuses in Shanghai, including Puxi and Pudong, and offers a comprehensive international program for pupils aged two to eighteen. SCIS is recognized as an International Baccalaureate (IB) Continuum World School and is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). SCIS is also a member of EARCOS (East Asia Regional Conference of Overseas Schools) and the Association of China and Mongolia International Schools (ACMIS) (ACAMIS).
SCIS, as an IB World School, offers a full range of programs from Kindergarten to Grade 12, including the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP) (DP). The IB is a college-preparatory program with an emphasis on personal development and the encouragement of creative, athletic, and global civic activities. The SCIS Mission is to cultivate enquiring, intelligent, and compassionate learners who contribute constructively to their communities within the auspices of the IB.
