Smeg
Smeg is an Italian appliance manufacturer based in Guastalla, near Reggio Emilia in the country's north. It was founded in 1948 by Vittorio Bertazzoni Sr. and is now run by his son, Roberto. Production of household appliances began in the 1950s, and the brand immediately distinguished itself for its ability to design and apply cutting-edge technology.
Throughout the years, Smeg expanded their product range to include various kitchen appliances and collaborated with renowned architects and designers, establishing the brand as a global leader. As a result, some products have become design icons while others are genuine works of art thanks to the winning combination of technology and aesthetics that characterize Smeg appliances.
Acknowledged with numerous design awards, Smeg's success can be attributed to its advanced in-house design center and state-of-the-art production processes, all based in Italy and subject to rigorous quality and compliance checks.
Smeg appliances cater to diverse style preferences, ranging from classic to contemporary, while upholding the highest standards of functionality, ergonomics, and technological excellence. The most notable Smeg collection is the 1950s line, which made its debut with the iconic FAB freestanding refrigerator. While its rounded contours, pastel or vibrant shades, and vintage chrome-plated steel handles evoke a sense of nostalgia, the appliance also incorporates advanced technologies to enhance its performance.
