Jeon So-Yeon (born August 26, 1998), commonly known by her stage name Soyeon, is a South Korean singer, rapper, songwriter, and record producer, the leader of the multi-girl group nationality (G)I-DLE managed by Cube Entertainment. She became famous after participating in Produce 101 season 1 and Unpretty Rapstar season 3.
Soyeon has only debuted for 3 years but has been recognized as one of the best female rappers in Kpop. She is one of the rare female idols who write their own rap instead of just performing according to the lyrics that the company composed. Soyeon is a rare 3rd generation female idol who has been recognized for her rap ability as a true Hip Hop artist. The (G)I-DLE leader joined Unpretty Rapstar and showed off personality traits completely different from his idol image. Soyeon made the opponents and the audience get off their hats to her top performance talent combining facial expressions and rapping lyrics. When competing at the survival show Queendom, the leader (G)I-DLE even snatched the fastest rap record among Kpop girl groups that Jennie (BLACKPINK) ever set when "shooting rap" at 8.32 negative speed time/second. Her ability led her to top rapping skills, Soyeon ranked 5th in the top 30 with 66730 votes.
