SPCA
The SPCA stands for the Hong Kong Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, formed by a group of volunteers in 1903 who wanted to prevent the cruel treatment of livestock during transportation and slaughter. Now, it is one of the biggest animal NGOs in Hong Kong taking on the challenge of dealing with all aspects of animal welfare.
SPCA's main activities include Animal Welfare, Adoption, Outreach, Special Services (B&T Consultation, Pet Grooming, Boarding, etc), and Vet Services.
Apart from its headquarters, SPCA has centers and veterinary hospitals across Hong Kong, from urban Wan Chai and Kowloon to places that are further out, like Mui Wo and Cheung Chau. All of SPCA’s centers and vet hospitals are well equipped with diagnostic machines and a variety of services.
