The braided fishing line SpiderWire was initially made available in 1998. A team of engineers in California created the line while working on a project to create a new kind of fiber that was stronger and lighter than anything that was already on the market. They created a fiber known as Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE), and SpiderWire quickly obtained a license to use it in fishing lines.

SpiderWire fishing line is strong and thin at the same time, making it perfect for long casts and modest bite detection. Due to the line's exceptional sensitivity, fishermen can detect even the smallest fish that may be attached to it.

Anglers can select the ideal line for their needs from a range of SpiderWire strengths and colors. SpiderWire braided line is more expensive than fishing line made of monofilament. For instance, 300 yards of 10-pound test SpiderWire Stealth Braid cost about $15 on a spool, whereas monofilament fishing line with a 10-pound test weighs about $5 for 300 yards of line.
