Stinson Beach, Marin County
Stinson Beach is one of Northern California's top beaches and the crown gem of the San Francisco Bay Area shoreline. It is hidden away behind tall redwood woods. It's only 20 miles north of San Francisco, but it takes longer to get there because of the meandering road through Marin County's undulating hills. A protected area of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area is the beach at Stinson Beach (also the name of the town).
