Support brain health
Tocotrienols, a vitamin E compound with potent antioxidant capabilities that may help with brain function, are abundant in palm oil. Studies on both animals and people show that the tocotrienols found in palm oil may help safeguard the fragile polyunsaturated fats in the brain, decrease the course of dementia, lower the risk of stroke, and stop the development of brain lesions.
In a two-year trial including 121 participants with brain lesions, the group receiving tocotrienols extracted from palm oil twice daily maintained stability whereas the group receiving placebo saw lesion progression. Additionally, palm oil and palm oil tocotrienols appear to have neuroprotective benefits against cognitive decline, according to a 2020 analysis of 18 animal and test-tube research. But additional human research is required.
