Take the youngsters to Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead
Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead opened in 1978 to recreate a turn-of-the-century farm in Kansas. The Farmstead is home to nearly 250 animals and birds of prey, as well as vegetable and flower gardens, a one-room schoolhouse, an old-fashioned fishing pond, pony rides, and other attractions. Activities, attractions, and programs are available from April 1 to October 31 in a 12-acre educational farm setting that fosters an appreciation for farm life, wildlife, and Kansas history.
The Farmstead's mission is to connect guests to the history and heritage of early 1900's Kansas. Visitors of all ages interact with animals; mine for gemstones; bottle-feed pygmy goats; and watch a live milking demonstration. Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead is a place to make family memories.
Visitors can take guided tours through the farm where they’ll be introduced to all sorts of animals, from pigs and cows to donkeys and goats, not to mention plenty of chickens roaming free around the property! Beyond farm life, there’s also a hayride and plenty of other activities for little ones to enjoy.
