Telexistence Inc.
Dr. Susumu Tachi, Professor Emeritus at the University of Tokyo and Chairman of TELEXISTENCE Inc., first coined the term "TELEXISTENCE" in 1980. This concept relates to the idea of a human being existing in a place other than where he or she actually resides and being able to act freely in that faraway setting. It is essentially expanding the presence of humans as well as the technological systems that enable this.
They build remote-controlled robots with artificial intelligence with the goal of changing robots, changing structures, and changing the planet. They bring together highly specialized people from all around the world to create hardware, software, AI, and teleoperation technologies in-house on a constant basis. Their ambition is to broaden the scope of robot activities beyond industry and transform the fundamental nature of labor in society. TX launched Model-T, a remote-controlled robot for the retail business, in July 2020 and debuted it at the Lawson Model-T Tokyo Port City Takeshiba Store.
