Ternua
Ternua is a family-owned brand situated in Modragon/Basque Country that has long been considered as a premier maker of mountain sports and outdoor clothing in Spain. The brand was inspired by Basque fisherman who went whaling intrepidly, fearlessly, and politely over 500 years ago. The brand's ideology is centered on nature, unity, adventure, and environmental stewardship. The whale fin is part of the Ternua logo. So it's no surprise that Ternua collaborates closely with the activist organization "Whale Adoption Project" and has adopted four whales.
Ternua chooses fabrics and textiles using the most technologically advanced technology. Schoeller, Polartec Alpha, and Gore Tex Pro materials are used to create goods that meet the most stringent requirements. Dryshell, Windshell, Shelltec, Microshell, Shellstretch, and Thermashell are among the proprietary technologies employed. Ternua prioritizes sustainability and minimizing the influence on the environment and nature in all of its actions.
Ternua has mostly used textiles with bluesign® accreditation, a standard that ensures the environmental friendliness of the entire production cycle, since 2009. The brand also makes 55% of its products from recycled or recyclable organic and functional raw materials.
