After being tragically murdered, Satoru Mikami finds himself reborn in a sword and sorcery realm, but with a unique twist—he's reincarnated as a slime! As the titular slime, he embarks on an extraordinary adventure, gathering allies and working to establish his own nation of formidable monsters.
This extraordinary tale initially graced the online pages of Shōsetsuka ni Narō from 2013 to 2016 before being picked up by Micro Magazine, which published the first light novel volume in 2014. As of September 2022, twenty volumes of 'That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime' have been released, captivating readers with its intricate world-building and compelling characters. North American readers have had the pleasure of experiencing this story thanks to Yen Press, which licensed the series and published the first volume in December 2017.
The series has also expanded its reach with a manga adaptation published by Kodansha and five manga spin-offs published by Micro Magazine and Kodansha. Additionally, fans have been treated to an anime television series adaptation produced by Eight Bit, which aired from October 2018 to March 2019. The excitement continued with a second season of the anime series that aired from January to September 2021 and an anime adaptation of the second spin-off manga from April to June 2021.
