The Architectural Imagination by Harvard University (edX)
Harvard University has just announced a new free online course called "The Architectural Imagination". Taught by Professor K. Michael Hays of Architectural Theory along with 2 professors of History of Architecture and History of Technology & Architecture – Erika Naginski & Antoine Picon, the course is presented as a level “introductory” and is described as teaching you to “read” architecture as a cultural medium as well as a technological achievement. This course will be delivered through edX, a high-quality open online education platform (MOOCs) founded by Harvard & MIT in 2012.
“Architecture is one of the most complex and widely recognized cultural mediums globally, both as an academic discipline and as a profession” – course description learn to speak. “The product of architecture deals with all the technical, aesthetic, political and economic problems in society. Over the course of 10 parts of the course, we'll walk through history's most important examples that show how architecture engages, mediates, and expresses the complex aspirations of a culture."
