The Ocean Course

Since 1991, The Ocean Course has hosted all four PGA major championships. It is widely recognized as one of the most prestigious courses in the United States.

The Ocean Course, situated on the island's eastern tip, has the most seashore holes in the Northern Hemisphere. Ten holes encircle the Atlantic, while the remainder runs parallel to them.

Originally, the course was to be built behind the dunes. The designers then chose to elevate the course, providing players with unimpeded views of Kiawah's gorgeous coastline. This new layout exposed the area to the Atlantic's fierce and unpredictable gusts, adding to the course's challenge. Depending on the direction and intensity of the wind in The Ocean Course, a player's club selection might vary by up to eight rounds.
