The Opal Grand Forks
Grand Forks, North Dakota's Opal Grand Forks is a performance venue. Elegant decor and refurbished hardwood floors from historic origins characterize this stunning establishment. Simonson's Lumber warehouse was the birthplace of the Opal Grand Forks. The name is drawn from Opal Kunz, an accomplished female pioneer in the aviation sector, adding to the building's historic significance. Opal earned her pilot's license in 1929 and won a flying competition against a group of men pilots in 1930. Her accomplishments include founding the Betsy Ross Air Corps and becoming a chartered member of the Ninety-Nines, a women's pilot club.
The Opal Grand Forks can seat up to 250 people in a seated supper. The head table will be set in front of a magnificent marble wall, providing the perfect focal point in the area. Tables and chairs, as well as usage of their outdoor patio space, are included with the venue hire. Rustic elements such as a wood floor and exposed beams can be found in the indoor hall. Light pours in through the big, open windows, bathing the entire space in a warm, ethereal radiance.
The Opal Grand Forks offers a wide range of services to help make your wedding occasion a success. Floor-length tablecloths, cocktail tables, and other items are included. Sky's Fine Dining and Cloud 9 Lounge, its partnered companies, provide catering and bartending services. Couples can choose from a variety of buffet alternatives with them.
The Opal Grand Forks is close to Saint Anne's Monument, the Red River, which separates North Dakota and Minnesota, and US Highway 2.
