The Palms
The Palms, one of the best shopping malls in New Zealand, is worth a trip if you're an obsessive shopper. About 4 kilometers from the heart of the city, in the Shirley neighborhood of Christchurch, is where you'll find the Mall. There are 95 stores overall at The Palms, which provides a welcoming atmosphere. For a one-stop shopping experience, there are 88 specialty shops, three restaurants, six different banks, and a post office.
The mall is big enough to house several department stores, neighborhood shops, beauty salons, lifestyle shops, sports and adventure shops, and home furnishing businesses all in one location. It contains Christchurch's first Reading Cinemas multiplex and an outdoor food court where you can watch a beautiful sunset. The Palms' distinctive architecture and style are another intriguing feature. In 2004 the mall's main entrance plaza received a NZILA Silver medal for landscape design. Going up to the roof is typically less frustrating because finding covered parking is typically expensive.
