Thomas Keller

The American born celebrity chef, restaurateur and cookbook author, He is popular for owning the restaurant ‘The French Laundry.’ which has won various awards from the James Beard Foundation. Thomas Keller has received two awards for outstanding work: ‘the Best California Chef in 1996’ and ‘the Best Chef in America in 1997.’ In the culinary industry, Thomas Keller is known for his unmatched French cuisine skills.

His career began working in his mother’s restaurant, before being mentored by Roland Henin, a French-born Master Chef, who taught him the fundamentals of cooking. After paying his dues, he was ready to go it alone and opened his first restaurant, Rakel, in early 1987. In 2005 he was awarded the three-star rating in the inaugural Michelin Guide for his restaurant, Per Se, and currently holds seven Michelin stars in total.
