Tom Dixon, OBE is a British designer who self-taught himself. He is best recognized as the Creative Director of the eponymous 'Tom Dixon' company, which specializes in lighting, furniture, and accessories design.

Dixon has taken historic industrial methods and converted them into wonderful modern lighting, home accessories, and furniture in his quest to help resuscitate British manufacturing. Metal is spun, hammered, and polished by hand. Glass, like automobile headlights or glass insulators, is shaped and pressed into gleaming hues.
