Ranking first on the list of the largest Japanese companies is Toyota Motor Corporation, a worldwide automobile manufacturer based in Toyota City, Aichi, Japan. Its headquarters are located in Japan. Kiichiro Toyoda was the one who came up with the idea, and on August 28, 1937, the company was officially established. Around 10 million automobiles are assembled and produced by Toyota each year, making the company one of the most prolific and successful manufacturers in the world.
Beginning with the launch of the Toyota Prius in 1997, Toyota has been considered a pioneer in the design, production, and marketing of hybrid electric cars that are more environmentally friendly and economical in their use of gasoline. More than forty different hybrid car types are now being offered for sale by the corporation around the globe.
As of the year 2022, the Toyota Motor Corporation manufactures automobiles under four brands: the Daihatsu, Hino, Lexus, and Toyota tags. In 2022, Toyota was successful in continuing its position as the automaker with the highest number of sales throughout the world for the third year in a row.
