Trade-Van Information Services Co. is a Taiwan-based company principally engaged in the provision of information technology (IT) services. The Company's principal businesses include customs clearance services, e-commerce services, global regulatory services and Internet government services. The company mainly does business in Taiwan. The Company has only one reporting segment that provides related services and electronic data exchange. The team earns revenue in the form of electronic data exchange services, project services, and device management services.
Trade-Van's predecessor was the "Commodity Clearance Automation Planning and Promotion Task Force (CCAPP), which was established under the approval of the Yuan Executive of the Republic of China to deal with the difficulties that exporters and importers face in customs clearance. Therefore, the task of the CCAPP task force is to build an automated system for customs clearance and payment of customs duties to accelerate customs clearance and help merchants reduce transaction costs. After an excellent job performance, the CCAPP task force was privatized and reformed as a company (with the government holding less than 50% of the shares) in 1996.
The company was named Trade-Van Information Services (VAN stands for “Value Added Network”), with a mission to continue to enhance services of automating customs procedures, actively exploiting network resources, researching and developing advanced technology, expanding the scope of business and services, and providing a full range of value-added services network.
