Tugela Falls, South Africa
Tugela Falls is a seasonal waterfall series located in the Drakensberg Mountains of Royal Natal National Park in KwaZulu-Natal Province, Republic of South Africa. Tugela Falls in South Africa is the world's second-highest waterfall, with a total plunge of 3,110 feet and a series of five free-leaping, seasonal cascades. Based on apparent differences in the measurements of both waterfalls, some sites suggest that it may even exceed Venezuela's Angel Falls as the world's tallest waterfall.
In any case, it's a breathtaking sight, plummeting in a plume of froth from the top of The Amphitheatre cliff, the most identifiable natural feature in KwaZulu-majestic Natal's Royal Natal National Park. Mont-Aux-Sources, one of the Drakensberg mountains' tallest peaks, is the Tugela River's source. Take the hard Sentinel trek to the top of the escarpment for a closer look, or choose a simpler hike along the Tugela Gorge to the foot of the falls.
