In the magical dimension of Coventry, a royal witch named Miranda gives birth to identical twin daughters, Apolla and Artemis, on Halloween night. Their father, Aron DuBaer, transfers his magical powers to protect them from the evil Darkness and sacrifices himself in the process. Karsh and Ileana, friends of the family, take on the responsibility of protecting the twins and send them to Earth for adoption.

Growing up on Earth, Apolla is named Camryn Elizabeth Barnes and becomes an outgoing artist, while Artemis is named Alexandra "Alex" Nicole Fielding and develops a passion for writing. On their 21st birthday, they reunite and discover their magical abilities, realizing they are the only ones capable of defeating the Darkness and saving Coventry. As they embrace their destiny, they become the powerful Twitches, combining their gifts of knowledge and magic to face the Darkness.
