University of Cologne

The University of Cologne is a university in Cologne, Germany. It was the sixth university to be established in Central Europe and, although it closed in 1798 before being re-established in 1919, it is now one of the largest universities in Germany with more than 48,000 students. The University of Cologne was a university of excellence as part of the German Universities Excellence Initiative from 2012 to 2019.

offers more than 120 undergraduate programs in its six faculties. Currently, they have about 5,000 international students from more than one country. An additional 1,000 students come to Cologne as exchange students every year. Roughly 20 % of their own student body spend time studying abroad.

Graduates from the University of Cologne are sought after on the job market. The university’s Professional Center as well as the faculties’ Careers Services provide advice and support by offering workshops, one-on-one advice sessions, and courses for personal and professional skills development.
