University Village
University Village is the shopping epicenter of the University District, offering an open-air shopping experience with big-name brands and over a dozen independent merchants. It is also considered as one of the best shopping malls in Seattle. The unique Northwest cultural flavor found among shops like Fran's Chocolates and Glassybaby, local stalwarts buried among garden locations and tons of fantastic eateries, really sets this retail strip apart from others.
It requires about 300,000 square feet of area and offers over 70 stores. There's everything here, from dining to shopping to salons and services. Because the vast majority of the stores here are local, shopping here will mostly benefit tiny local companies. University Village is an appealing open-air shopping center that includes iconic neighborhood outdoor clothing retailer Eddie Bauer as well as national retailers such as Barnes & Noble and Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel, Gap, and The North Face.
You could spend all day strolling through the gardens and grabbing bites to eat at businesses providing everything from pizza, sushi, and Chinese food to vegan fare and artisan beers. It's about a 15-minute drive northeast of the city center.
There are also plenty of bike racks around the complex, as well as plenty of parking space within and surrounding it. You have three parking garages to select from. EV charging is provided in the West and South garages. No matter where you go in University Village, the atmosphere is sophisticated and hospitable, so you'll have a great time!
