Untappd, a popular mobile app that allows consumers to rate and review the beers they drink, announced today that it has merged with Next Glass, a wine and beer recommendation platform.

Founded over 5 years ago by Tim Mather and Greg Avola, Untappd has, over the years, developed a reputation as a subscription app for beer aficionados. With a user base of nearly 3 million drinkers, the company was able to grow both its reach and its database by gathering product information from users who shared and rated their beers.
