Vanity Fair
Vanity Fair is witty in the right place and has fantastic depth, Vanity Fair takes topical issues and turns them into creative nonfiction you'll enjoy reading. The website “VanityFair.com” used not to let you see much, but all that has changed and you can watch a lot of content for free. Most of the stories are serious and clever enough to grab anyone's attention. For example, consider some of the topics of recent articles such as the background behind the financial crisis at Lehman Brothers, the $3 trillion cost of the Iraq war, Vladimir Putin's power in Russia, the real estate woes in the Hamptons and at the Plaza Hotel Rupert Murdoch's media empire, Bobby Kennedy's woeful 1968 Presidential Campaign, etc.
The depth and sophistication of these stories, as well as the quality of the writing, is certainly on par with any article you'll find in the Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic Magazine, The New Yorker, and other similar "serious" publications. The editorial section, parties, book reviews, letters, articles on emerging people, etc. are followed by stories.
Every story no matter what the content is engaging! The financial articles by Michael Lewis and others are amazing. Even movie star topics will provide interesting information and knowledge. The promotional price for buying Vanity Fair at Amazon is often better than the price listed on the postcards included in the magazine. It only costs about $20 over two years (at Amazon), equating to the cost of just four copies purchased individually at the newsstand.
