Vanity Projects
Vanity Projects was founded in 2008 by independent curator Rita de Alencar Pinto as a pop-up, assembling itself in the homes and studios of visual artists, friends, and art fans. Vanity Projects received numerous invitations to show at art fairs, fashion events, museums, and cultural institutions.
The Lower East Side's appointment-only Vanity Projects salon-atelier elevates nail art to a new level. Vanity Projects, in collaboration with the Daata Editions art foundation, presents modern video art for consumers to watch and interact with while getting their nails done. What about the nails themselves? Through its artist-in-residence program, the salon invites one-of-a-kind international nail artists on a rotating basis, allowing clients the opportunity to be painted by one-of-a-kind worldwide talents.
