The Chollar Mine was responsible for the town's enormous wealth. Over the course of 80 years since it was discovered in 1859, the mine has yielded $17 million dollars in silver and gold. Visitors can now tour the mine that provided so much wealth to the region. Tickets are $10 for adults and $2 for children. Visitors can see displays of old equipment, silver ore, rock drills, and other items. It's a fascinating look at this town's extraordinary history.
