Visvim
Hiroki Nakamura created Visvim, a Japanese menswear company, in Ura-Harajuku in 2001. The company is based in Tokyo, Japan, and has stores in both Japan and the United States. Visvim is also available at department stores and boutiques around the world, including New York's Bergdorf Goodman and London's Dover Street Market.
The Visvim Christo sandal is named after the artist couple of the same name, and it has a wraparound construction that resembles Christo's wrapped buildings. Nakamura debuted a new line of footwear dubbed "Folk" in 2008, with primarily leather uppers and no chemical tanning.
In the previous 18 years, Visvim has established itself as a famous Japanese sneaker brand. This brand looks to American design for inspiration for their footwear.
This not-so-old Japanese footwear business offers clients not only readily recognizable American designs, but also an interesting mix of modern designs with historical culture and traditional Japanese design. This amazing sneaker design is the secret to this Japanese cult sneaker brand's originality.
