The Vodafone Group Plc was founded in the United Kingdom and is a worldwide telecommunications corporation. It is incorporated in and operates out of Newbury, Berkshire, England. Its primary service regions include the Asian, African, European, and Oceanian continents.

As of January 2023, Vodafone's networks are present in 21 countries under its direct control, with an additional 47 nations covered through partnerships. In 150 countries, businesses may turn to Vodafone Global Enterprise for telecoms and information technology support.

Vodafone is included in the prestigious FTSE 100 Index, which is maintained by companies with principal listings on the London Stock Exchange. The Nasdaq is the secondary market for the company's stock. Vodafone was chosen to "reflect the provision of voice and data services over mobile phones" and derives from the words "voice data fone" (the latter being a spectacular spelling of "phone").
