Walter Knoll
The Knoll furniture dynasty's foundation stone was laid in 1865, with many family strands intertwining. Walter Knoll invented aluminum chairs for Zeppelins in 1907, and he and Paul Hahn founded "Walter Knoll & Co." in Stuttgart in 1925. Herrenberg, Württemberg, has been the site of production since 1937.
The sofa manufacturer Walter Knoll adheres to the motto "Restrained like a gentleman" by producing furniture with modern design and architectural clarity. Walter Knoll sofas create living spaces using the finest raw materials, the finest craftsmanship, and excellent craftsmanship. Numerous awards for many modern classics were received by the company through collaboration with designers such as Norman Foster, Claudio Bellini, and the Viennese design team EOOS.
He was the first company to specialize in mass-producing Bauhaus furniture. The lobby chairs and sofas designed during the renovation of the Berlin Reichstag are modern classics. Walter Knoll's collection includes the sofas "Foster 500," "Foster 502," and "Jason 391."
