Watch mermaids at Weeki Wachee

Since its debut in the 1940s, Weeki Wachee may very well be the most traditional attraction in Florida. Since then, visitors from all over the globe have flocked to see its distinctive mermaid spectacle, which is still being performed today! However, Weeki Wachee is more than just its iconic mermaids. This Florida state park is a true geological treasure because it also has the nation's deepest freshwater cave system. Along with exploring the caverns, visitors may paddle a canoe or kayak down the spring to look for wildlife and swim in Buccaneer Bay's pristine waters.

Because it has mermaids, Florida's 12,000-acre Weeki-Wachee preserve is one of the most unusual places there. Since the springs offer calm, clean waters, slides, diving platforms, locations to sit and dine, and more, the Weeki Wachee Springs Park is one of the most frequently visited places in Florida. But even better, this city is famous for its mermaid mythology. There is a live mermaid show every day, but if you'd rather view actual animals, you can kayak down the river and down the springs. One of the nicest springs for a tranquil day excursion from the city is this one, which is close to Tampa.
