Clive Beddoe and a group of like-minded entrepreneurs founded WestJet in 1996, with three planes, five routes, and 220 pleasant WestJetters. Today, 14,000 WestJetters are dedicated to transporting over 22 million guests each year on over 700 flights per day, using a fleet of more than 150 aircraft.

With 109 destinations in the United States and Canada, as well as long-haul flights to Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean, the airline crisscrosses Canada and is the country's second largest carrier after Air Canada. WestJet has comprehensive in-flight entertainment options such as live TV and WiFi, as well as rather extensive buy-on-board meal offerings for a low-cost airline.
