  3. At Rutland Free Clinic, patients have access to many health care related items at no cost. Available items may include reading glasses, personal and oral hygiene supplies, and some over the counter medications for cold and allergy relief. Their clinics are typically 3-4 hours long and offered a minimum of 3 times per week, but can be less or more often depending on demand for services. They also do their best to offer clinics at different times of the day to accommodate as many of patients as possible.

Clinical practitioners such as, Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Dentists, Dental Hygienists, and more devote themselves to their mission on a strictly volunteered basis. All of their clinic providers are required to complete a thorough application process which includes professional credentialing and references.

With the kind-hearted assistance of the community partners, they are able to continue to offer treatment for extractions and fillings.

Someone seeking dental services must first fill a medical exam at Rutland Free Clinic. This requirement ensures that the patient is not experiencing an oral infection which requires antibiotic treatment before their dental appointment. It also allows the clinic to establish a patient record and identify any allergies or conditions that must be documented in order to provide safe treatment to the patient.

If you are an existing patient and not in need of an antibiotic, you may make an appointment with the volunteer Registered Dental Hygienists who will perform an oral assessment and an x-ray if a referral to further services may be needed.
