Lake Gahar is located in the western region of Iran at 2,400 meters above sea level and has a length of slightly more than one kilometer and a depth of about 30 meters. Eels, turtlebacks, frogs, and rainbow trout live in the lake's crystal-clear waters, while goats, sheep, deer, and leopards roam the surrounding landscape. Gahar is a famous beach destination, and the ideal months to visit are July and August, when the highland lake is blooming with colorful anemones and lovely tulips.

The lake, dubbed "the pearl of Oshtorankouh" by locals, is a reward for those who are ready to suffer a five-hour climb up the mountain, as there is no other way to reach there. The gorgeous path and distinctive panoramas, on the other hand, make the walk a lot more delightful than it sounds.

Given the lake's location within the Oshtorankouh Protected Area, a stringent no-hunting and no-fishing restriction have greatly assisted in the preservation of the natural scenery. The lake is developed in a valley called Gaharoud in the mountains' southwest. The journey must begin in Aligoudarz County, Lorestan Province. Because most people spend the night in the vicinity of Lake Gahar, visitors should bring camping gear.

Lake Zarivar is five kilometers long and 1,285 meters above sea level and is one of the most beautiful lakes to visit in Iran. Zarivar's basin is only fed by melting snow from the neighboring mountains despite its size. Lake Zarivar is situated in the western Zagros Mountain Range, close to lush oak woodlands. Due to the presence of various rare plant and animal species, Lake Zarivar has designated a natural reserve in 2009, along with the surrounding area. The location is popular with tourists and nature enthusiasts all year round, thanks partly to the lake's shifting islands.

The ancient city of Marivan in Kurdestan Province welcomes visitors to Lake Zarivar, popularly known by locals as "Kurdestan's Lost Paradise." Although the lake's popularity contradicts its image as a "hidden" paradise, Zarivar is undeniably one of Iran's most stunning bodies of water in a scenic region. Summer boat rides and winter ice skating are two of the lake's most popular sports.

Lake Shourmast, despite its tiny size, is undoubtedly the most significant feature in Savadkouh, a small village 6 kilometers east of Pol-e Sefid in Mazandaran Province. The lake is surrounded by towering alder trees and is adjacent to various historical and religious sites, including Veresk Bridge, Lajim Tower, and Abdolhaq Shrine.

The lake's proximity to a variety of villages and cities makes it simple to find lodging. Those who enjoy nature can, however, pitch tents and spend the night beside the lake. Lake Shourmast is easily accessible due to its proximity to one of the key roadways between Tehran and Mazandaran.

This convenience, however, comes at a cost: traveling from Tehran to the greener northern provinces is difficult during peak vacation season due to excessive traffic.

The alpine-like Lake Ovan is surrounded by four tiny settlements in Alamut, Qazvin Province. Ovan is accessible via a route that connects Qazvin, the province's capital, to Alamut. This is another undiscovered natural beauty and one of the most beautiful lakes to see in Iran.

Lake Ovan, sometimes known as Lake Evan, is a small yet beautiful alpine lake in the Alborz Mountains' Alamut region. This is located near Qazvin city and gets its water from strong seasonal rainfall during the rainy seasons as well as the numerous springs that surround it. Ovan Creek is the only tributary that flows into the lake. Ovan is also supplied with crystal-clean water from springs in the lakebed. Lake Ovan is approximately 8 meters deep and covers an area of 70.000 square meters.

In the summer, you may swim, fish, and ride a boat on the lake, and in the fall, you can see migratory birds like swans, geese, and ducks. During the winter, you may also enjoy winter activities like skiing and ice skating on this lake.

Lake Valasht is one of the most beautiful lakes to visit in Iran. It is situated to the southwest of Chalus and to the northeast of Kelardasht. It is one of ten Iranian freshwater lakes that house many migrating birds, fish, and other aquatic species throughout the year. It is far from peaceful, owing in great part to its peculiar location.

Valasht has a different temperature than Kelardasht because it is 1000 meters above sea level. The springs placed within it supply the water for this magnificent freshwater. Furthermore, rain and snowmelt are accumulated in this freshwater. As a result, it is reasonable to expect Valasht's water level to be lower during the warmer months of the year and higher during the rainy months.

Many tourists come to Valasht to relax, appreciate nature, fish near the pond, walk, swim, or dive in it, and so on. Of course, as previously stated, the depth of Valasht is great, and swimming is not advised unless you are a professional. Because there is little foliage or specific shelter around Valasht, it is no surprise that it is better suited for transitory and one-day visits. There are only a few trees around the Valasht, and you'll have to be lucky to find a spot to rest because tree shadows are generally claimed by other tourists.

Lake Sabalan is situated above Sabalan. Actually, this freshwater stream is the Sabalan volcano's mouth, and it now serves as a magnificent freshwater site throughout the warm seasons. Sabalan is one of Iran's highest mountains. Sabalan stands at 4811 meters tall. It is located in the Ardebil province of northwest Iran. Sabalan, an inactive volcanic mountain, is Iran's third highest peak after Damavand and Alamkouh.

Sabalan is a popular tourist destination because of the natural baths at the foot of the mountains, the lovely summer scenery, and the Alvares ski resort. The Sabalan River is one of Azerbaijan's major permanent water catchments. Its northern slopes lead to the Gharasu Valley and the Ahar Chay River, while its southern slopes lead to the Aji Chay River.

As a result, Sabalan supplies a significant amount of the water in the Aras river basin and the Uremia lake. On the slopes of Sabalan, there are numerous baths and mineral springs that are used by Meshkinshahr inhabitants and tourists throughout the year.
